Two Democratic senators in Congress have called on the National Highway Traffic Administration to conduct a comprehensive nationwide investigation into Tesla’s auto-driving capabilities.
According to Reuters, the senators also asked the agency to make proposals to upgrade the driver assistance system of Tesla vehicles.
The US National Highway Traffic Administration announced that it has begun preliminary assessments to assess the condition of Tesla’s 765,000 vehicles. Concerns about the performance of these vehicles increased after 11 Tesla vehicle crashes were reported, and in many cases the cause of these miscalculations was the ability to drive Tesla vehicles automatically.
